You're looking at an update for the wireless transmitter module, not the 40D. The current 40D firmware is 1.0.8.

2.0.0 is firmware update for battery grip with wireless file transmiter.
If you don’t use that grip, there is no need to update.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

That update will not run away from Canon site.
When you get the grip, get the update..

The 2.0.0 update, as I'm reading it, is not really meant for the 40D. I would suggest you update the your firmware of 1.0.5 to the 1.0.8. I don't know the specifics of this update, nor have I noticed anything earth banging by upgrading, but I operate under the premise that an upgrade isn't put out just for jollies.

Cheers,
LeBaron

I updated mine to 1.1.1 from 1.0.8
No problems so far, I imagine this just fixes a few small remaining issues with 1.0.8 or fixes lens compatibility.

Where did you get the 1.1.1 update? All I see on the canon site is the 1.0.8 update.

LeBaron
