Hi I have a HP G60 laptop running windows 7 which has been working great for years now. I had an issue with it a few days back (black screen white cursor in top right and unresponsive) so I thought I would do a system recovery. I used the recovery disk the computer prompted me to make when I first.

(Solved) - HELP! BOOTMGR is missing HP-G60 series laptop Windows 7
(16 posts)When I boot, I get this BOOTMGR is missing. So I insert my recovery disc and in the middle of the installation I get '0xe0ef000e'. Can someone please help me?
When I googled, I found this: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/fixing-bootmgr-is-missing-error-while-trying-to-boot-windows-vista/
But it only have instructions for Windows Vista. I have a Windows 7... I dont have Windows 7 DVD, it never came with my laptop. The only thing I have is the recovery discs and I tried using the recovery discs, but I get this error code '0xe0ef000e' in the middle of the installation.
Thanks!
ItsPirrip hi,
Follow this procedure

Thanks, but I have the Recovery Disc. HP only allows you to get one copy.
I need to know how to get through the installation without getting 0xe0ef000e
you might have to get another set of disks.
Do you know if you have a recovery partition on your hdd, if you do that would be your 2nd option?
I don't know.. my HD drive died with a S.M.A.R.T error, I've been told that theres no way to fix it. So I got a new HD but I'm not able to use the HD without getting error when I install the recovery discs.
You can D/L a copy of win7 and use your product key to activate it.

Thanks. How do I know which one I have? the product key is in the back of my laptop but doesnt mention which version I have. And when I download it, do I just burn it? or do I have to format the version or something? Idk how to do any of those...
Nevermind, its probably Home Premium.. its gonna take 10 hours :(
But idk if its Windows 7 Home Premium x86 (32-bit), Windows 7 Home Premium x64 (64-bit) or Windows 7 Professional x86 (32-bit).
Go to HP site and look for the Product Specifications (software section- Operating System) for your model.
Make Recovery Disc Hp Computer
You will have to use imageburn or read down midway on the link page and there is this app you can use for your install
http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon
I would recommend you use this, rather than Daemon,

Thanks for all the responses!
Now I'm getting this message during installation
'Windows cannot be installed to disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style.'
I tried formatting, deleting but none of it worked.
How can I fix this?
Thanks
Please explain your steps leading up to this error message.

Hi there,
Thank you so much for all the help!
I had to leave it 'unlocated' in order to install the OS. What I did was just delete the files and format but it was still in a partition, thats why it didnt work.
Again, thanks alot :D
I can now use my laptop ^__^
